amfAR’s New Digital Platform for Global Impact

Earlier this year, amfAR selected Dreamers of Day to lead the strategy, design, and engineering of a new digital platform, and after months of close collaboration, we’re proud to announce that the new site is now live.
For more than 40 years, amfAR has been a leading funder of lifesaving biomedical research, with an enduring commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The new amfar.org gives a mission this important a platform built to match.
What we delivered
A platform for amfAR’s global events.
amfAR’s events are a pillar of its fundraising, with the 2026 amfAR Gala Cannes alone raising $20 million for research. We built events into the site’s structure, organized by city and year, so guests can learn everything about an evening in one place, alongside the results of years of past benefits.
A true resource library.
amfAR’s news, policy reports, research briefs, and studies, which were previously filed as ordinary pages and posts, now live in a dedicated library. Policymakers, researchers, and journalists can find amfAR’s news and resources in one easy-to-access place.
Search that keeps up.
Start typing and results appear immediately, from the latest news and policy reports to galas and the people behind them, each labeled by type and date. Built on a dedicated search engine, it puts amfAR’s entire body of work a few keystrokes away.
A design system and component library.
A custom design system and library of reusable components let amfAR’s team build new campaign and program pages on its own schedule, while ensuring the brand stays consistent as it grows.
A careful migration.
Hundreds of articles, resources, and pages dating back as far as 2008 were carefully moved to the new site with measures in place to protect search rankings. Years of amfAR’s published work remain easy to find for readers, search engines, and AI tools.
One clear structure for years of content.
We untangled content that had spread across overlapping structures into one governed model, with a single newsroom and shared topics and programs. Visitors can now easily filter amfAR’s extensive content, and editors always know where a new piece belongs.
Accessibility built in from the start.
The site was designed and engineered to target WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility compliance, with keyboard and screen reader support in its interactive components, so the mission reaches the widest possible audience.
Congratulations to the amfAR team
Huge congratulations to everyone at amfAR, whose dedication to their mission and the communities they serve shaped every page of this site.
It’s an honor to build for work this important, and we’re proud to keep supporting the platform as amfAR’s research, advocacy, and events continue to grow.
