Dreamers of Day Celebrates Eleven Years

Eleven years is long enough to build up a decent list. Hundreds of projects launched. More than 110 clients. Work across dozens of industries.
Then there is the part nobody puts on a website: a few million lines of code, a frankly unreasonable number of Slack messages, more than a billion pageviews supported, and 50+ websites we keep running.
Lists are easy to write, though. They are not the reason any of it happened.
The people
We are proud of the work. It has earned Web Excellence Awards, Webby recognition, and Dallas Business Journal honors along the way, and we are glad to have every one of them.
We are prouder of the people who made it.
The clients who handed us things that mattered to them. The partner agencies who brought us in and trusted our expertise. And our team, who hold that same standard on the work nobody is watching, which is the only reason any of the above is true.
Ask anyone here what made eleven years possible and the answer lands on the culture long before it lands on the numbers. Low ego. High trust. Ownership. It is why the hard problems get picked up instead of passed around.
Details matter
It’s a principle Dreamers of Day was founded on, and eleven years have not talked us out of it.
How something works. How it feels to use. What the experience is actually like for the person on the other side of the screen. And the care that goes into getting all of that right, rather than just getting it done.
That has not changed. If anything, eleven years of doing the work has made us more stubborn about it.
The name still sets the bar
The name comes from T. E. Lawrence: “…the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” Vision counts for something only when it is executed in daylight, against real constraints.
Eleven years of real constraints later, that still reads as an instruction rather than a slogan. Dreaming big is the easy half. The work is in what you do about it on an ordinary Tuesday.
To everyone who has been part of the last eleven years: thank you.
Year twelve starts now!
